Our newest curriculum is currently being
developed to reflect recent research and current
MH/MR trends.
We follow the theory of Social Role
Valorization, that is all individuals have
aspirations for leading a "normal" quality of
life.
"It is
important for us all to recognize that people
with intellectual disability (mental handicap)
are people first. They are entitled to have
their dignity respected in all social
situations. By promoting the spirit of
normalization we reaffirm their humanity and
consequent rights."
We are encouraged to take any necessary step
within our bounds to enhance individual's
competencies and enhance their value in the eyes
of others. This is the RECS driving force.
We offer:
Rehabilitation - social and behavioral
training.
Education - the foundations of our life
skills. Reading, Writing, Communication..
Community Living - essential independent
living skills including travel training, Job
Development.
Skills Training - acquiring necessary
skills to fulfill goals. Individual goals
include gainful employment, independent living,
sports and health development, volunteering,
arts & crafts.
